R. Herbst
René Herbst studied architecture in Paris and Frankfurt. After a period of study at the Ecole de Paris since 1908 he began to have experience in the field of furniture design and furnishing. Working with several ateliers of architecture in Paris, then in London and Frankfurt to debut at the Salon d'Automne, where he had a "resting corner". He then founded Etablissements René Herbst and produced his own creations. At the end of the First World War, he devoted himself to the creation of furniture and the problems posed by the habitat and the architectural order, this is when he experimented with steel tubular furniture to which he inserted elastic elements produced by his firm in Paris.
